Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic individual wishing to seize an exciting opportunity and take a seat on our board as a Non Executive Director to advise on developing Kindness initiatives and campaigns across Australia. The board will work with a volunteer based Goodwill Advisory Council to deliver strategies to engage schools, parent and youth groups, NGOs, the corporate sector, Local, State and Federal Government in campaigns which raise awareness and celebrate the important role kindness plays in our community.

They will work within a board of nine for a 3 year term without remuneration, meeting bi monthly in Sydney and attend festivities during World Kindness Week 7th to 13th November. Out of pocket expenses and allowances will be provided for.

Desired Skills & Experience
Preferred Candidates will have experience working at senior levels within the private and or government sectors on an internationally level and understand the complexities and challenges of a diverse community. A second language is desirable as entertaining international delegations will be required with WKA anticipating to accept the Secretariat role for the 20 nation member, World Kindness Movement later this year.


The successful candidate will have previously participated on a board or advisory council involving youth and or community and has a knowledge of good governance for NGOs under the Act. He or She is able to demonstrate a proven record of developing and maintaining partnerships from an extensive network of key individuals within State, Federal and international organisations. They will be passionate, inspired and able to think outside the square, whilst understanding the importance of working within a team.

World Kindness Australia Ltd was founded after the success of a simple campaign promoted to schools to challenge Bullying. In its first year it gained international recognition from the peak global body the 20 nation member, World Kindness Movement. As a result The Governor of NSW has endorsed the campaign, it was placed on the NSW School Calendar and the Secretariat of the World Kindness Movement chose to have their 6th General Assembly in Sydney with the intent of passing the secretariat role to Australia for the first time. Over 400 schools participated electing Goodwill Ambassadors amongst students, teachers, senior managers within the DET, local and state Government. The founding Directors have significant public and corporate profiles and whose sweat equity sees the campaign being adopted to assist OH&S measures to challenge bullying in the workplace and greater community.
